Message from the Minister for Creative Industries

The story of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) would make a great film; an epic spanning ten years, featuring some of the world’s biggest stars, a cast of thousands and stunning locations.

It’s a story that the Andrews Labour Government is proud to be part of. We’ve been IFFM’s partner since its relaunch in 2012 and since then the festival has grown into a massive celebration of film, community and culture that attracts more than 35,000 people each year.

The Bollywood and Indian film industry is the biggest in the world and in addition to supporting IFFM, we have launched a new Bollywood and Indian Cinema Attraction Fund to bring more film productions from India and the subcontinent to our state. This will not only benefit our screen industry, it will strengthen our ties with India while putting Victoria on screen for all the world to see.

Enjoy this year’s festival and I look forward to seeing the next instalment in the exciting IFFM story.
