Indian Film Festival Of Melbourne

Time: 5:00PM
Date: Friday, 22nd August, 2025
Location: HOYTS Cinema District Docklands then Club Pandora, South Melbourne

Celebrate the evolution of queer storytelling with a powerful double feature that bridges past and present.

Join us as we revisit the history of LGBTQIA+ cinema with a special screening of Badnam Basti (1971), the first queer film made in India, and turn to the present with acclaimed filmmaker Onir’s latest queer romance, We Are Faheem & Karun.

The evening also features the Australian premiere of A Little Bit of Glitter, Siddharth Menon’s heartwarming and Student Academy Awards semi-finalist short film about queer acceptance and chosen family, and the exclusive trailer launch of Queering India, Swapnesh Dubey’s powerful new documentary.

But the night doesn’t end there! Stick around for the afterparty at Club Pandora hosted by Queer South Asians of Melbourne (QSAM), where the celebration continues with electrifying performances by local drag sensations.
