Based on Assamese writer Lakshminath Bezbaroa’s Grandma’s Tales, Kothanodi offers a spooky and immersive interpretation of interweaving folk tales. Director Bhasker Hazarika creates a dark and unsettling magical world of dark magic and peculiar events, crafting characters both believable and disquieting. With indelible performances from strong female cast, this creatively-woven narrative also confronts the social issue of witchcraft, only recently banned in the Assam region.
