We have an exceptional set of opportunities that exist for highly motivated individuals to be a part of what promises to be a very exciting Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2017. IFFM is a two-week program of film, fashion and interactive events, celebrating the talents and traditions of India and the subcontinent. The festival showcases a unique collection of cinema, awards and other cultural events along with exclusive interactive Masterclasses. Under the leadership of the Festival Director, the Festival/Events Coordinator will successfully deliver the highest possible standard of festival requirements for all productions, programs, and events as part of the festival.

These position are offered on a contractual terms of varying lengths of part-time and full-time basis, from Feb 2017 to August 2017.

Role: Festival/Events Coordinator

Qualifications / Required Skills

  • Minimum 2yrs experience in event management
  • Experience in managing and coordinating festivals
  • Key eye for detail along with high levels of creativity
  • Quick thinking for problem solving
  • Experience in overseeing operations and managing human resources
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
  • Running operational logistics before and during the event
  • Ensure all contact information is current and up to date
  • Manage and allot tasks to volunteers based on their abilities and skills set
  • Overseeing successful execution of tasks and responsibilities of Festival Volunteers
  • Work closely with the Festival Director, for the generation of post Festival reports and evaluations
Role: Sponsorship Coordinator
We currently have an opening for a Sponsorship Coordinator to maximise the number of sponsors supporting the festival.

Qualification / Skills required
  • Knowledge and experience in business development and sponsorship
  • Experience and/or qualifications in marketing communications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Good project management skills and experience.
  • Good working knowledge of social media networks and website structures.
    Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Experience in coordinating and drafting proposals, funding submissions or bid/pitch documents and other documentation associated with fundraising in various forms.
Responsibilities
  • Implement sponsorship strategies to maximize revenues
  • Ensure appropriate delivery of sponsorship programs at every level of the project
  • Seek new sponsors by taking referrals and online research
  • Handle negotiations with sponsors
  • Act as a liaison between sponsors and the company
  • Constant communication with stakeholders
  • Constant implementation of all pre-approved deliverables
Role: Logistics Coordinator
Qualification / Skills required
  • Prior experience in event production and logistics coordination
  • Previous festival experience an asset
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Good knowledge of Melbourne
  • Problem solving skills
Responsibilities
  • Work with suppliers to ensure quality of products, delivery schedule and negotiate costs
  • Communicate with venues concerning, load ins, rental and print traffic deliveries.
  • Create and update venue floor plans to support festival team with logistical elements, signage and all technical equipment.
  • Manage booking car rentals and constant coordination with the drivers
  • Coordinate on-site venue and red carpet set ups and strikes including street closures.
Role: Marketing Manager
Work to create effective marketing plan for film screenings.  
The candidate will also facilitate and organize the potential partnership strategies to broaden the marketing aspects of the festival.

Responsibilities include but not limited to
  • Create strong digital presence and awareness of the festival among target audiences
  • Oversee PR/Marketing of the complete festival
  • Promote ticket sales
  • Creating fliers, newsletters , brochure and other marketing materials
  • Maintain web content & social media management
  • Provide creative direction and manage a team of interns
  • Formulate weekly status reports
Requirements
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in Digital Marketing
  • Experience of having worked for festivals and/or other art organisations
  • Complete understanding and experience of creating strong social media presence
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines
