Join us as we celebrate our Chief Guest Aamir Khan’s artistic impact throughout his four-decade career with a specially curated selection of films that showcase his incredible talent and heart.
Across the 16th and 17th of August, we’ll revisit his most acclaimed works with free, open-air screenings at the iconic Federation Square, including Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988), Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1992), Lagaan (2001), Taare Zameen Par (2007) and Dangal (2016). These films have defined his legacy as a cinematic legend with sensitivity, depth, and a fearless commitment to true storytelling.
This major retrospective culminates in an introduction and exclusive screening of Khan's latest feature, Sitaare Zameen Par. The film follows a troubled basketball coach assigned to community service, who finds redemption through mentoring a team of neurodivergent adults.
“With ‘Sitaare Zameen Par,’ we’ve tried to tell a story that embraces inclusivity and neurodivergence with sensitivity and heart — and I’m grateful that the film has resonated with so many. I’m excited to share this journey with Melbourne and shine a light on the stories that matter.”
