Tara Rajkumar

Tara Rajkumar has made pioneering contributions to classical and contemporary Indian dance for more than fifty years in India, United Kingdom, and Australia. She is an internationally acclaimed dancer, choreographer, artistic director, researcher, educator and mentor. Her acclaimed productions have been toured nationally and internationally. Tara Rajkumar received the national Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in 2009 for her service to the performing arts. In 2001, she was inducted into the inaugural Victorian Honour Roll of Women Shaping the Nation for her contributions to Arts and Education and honoured in the Victorian parliament. Tara received the Victoria Premier's Award for Community Harmony in 2018 in recognition of her excellence in fostering multicultural understanding through the performing arts.
