America, 1965. The counter-culture movement is grows by the day as the nation’s youth begin to question the direction their country is heading in and their place as individuals in a vast and seemingly unknowable system. Stepping sandal-clad into the maelstrom is 70-year old Swami Prabhupada, an Indian immigrant with no American contacts and practically no money, who settles in New York City with the sole intention of offering spiritual wisdom to anyone who will listen. From street corners to every corner of the nation, the Swami’s message spreads through the zeitgeist and grows into a fanatical - and controversial - movement.
