Director: Anup Abraham Parackal

Anup Abraham Parackal is a filmmaker completing his post-graduation in Direction and Screenplay Writing at the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata. His first encounter with cinema was through VCR cassettes his father would rent, an experience that profoundly shaped his storytelling. Before filmmaking, he completed an MBA and spent five years at Ford Motors India as a Business Development Manager. His short Riha (2023), on which he served as co-writer and associate director, screened at DIFF, Tasveer, and the Oscar-qualifying BISFF. He was selected for the NFDC Young Creators Program to represent India at the Venice Film Festival 2025. That Perfect Day is his debut as writer and director, a semi-autobiographical short produced by SRFTI, exploring class and belonging through the eyes of a child.
