Director: Debopom Chakraborty

Debopom Chakraborty is an Indian animation filmmaker, visual storyteller, and graduate of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. Growing up across different parts of India due to his father's paramilitary service, he developed a keen eye for everyday life, relationships, and regional cultures. His character-driven work explores intimate human emotions through distinctly Indian stories. His debut animated short film, Rasmalai, explores a father-daughter relationship in a middle-class family. The film won the Ram Mohan Viewers’ Choice Award at Anifest India 2024, received an Honorable Mention in Taiwan, and screened at international festivals. He is developing Rasmalai into an animated series.
