Director: Rima Das

Rima Das is an Indian filmmaker whose work explores identity, belonging, human relationships, coming of age, and the search for purpose. Her films include Village Rockstars (2017), Bulbul Can Sing (2018), Tora’s Husband (2022), Village Rockstars 2 (2024), and Not a Hero (2026), which premiered at major international film festivals, including Toronto, Berlin, and Busan. Her films have screened at more than 150 festivals worldwide and received over 75 awards. Village Rockstars won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film and was India’s official submission to the Academy Awards. Rima Das is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and a Brand Ambassador for TIFF’s Share Her Journey initiative.
