Director: Benu Bindra

Benu Bindra is an Indian-born, Melbourne-based emerging filmmaker making her creative debut with the short film Graveyard Shift, which she wrote, directed, and acted in. Without formal training in screenwriting, acting, or directing, she approaches filmmaking through lived experience, emotional instinct, and honest storytelling. After migrating to Melbourne at 20, she has spent 17 years building a life in the city she now calls home. Her work explores the inner worlds of immigrants, focusing on identity, belonging, relationships, and hope. Outside filmmaking, she works as a cyber professional and is a single mother to her two-year-old son.
