31 Mins | India No restriction
Victorian premiere
In a quest to assert their identities as women auto rickshaw drivers, Mohana and Leela Rani navigate the heavily male dominated streets of Chennai. Their personalities collide and unite while they lead a mobility revolution consisting of an army of women drivers.

Cast: Mohana Sundari, Leela Rani

Director: Sraiyanti Haricharan

Sraiyanti is a cinematographer by training whose constant wish to capture happy accidents in reality often goes beyond the visual medium and heads right into storytelling territory, blurring the lines between cinematographer and director. Born in Chennai in 1993, she aims to build and bring attention to documentary and non-fiction work in South India, especially Tamil Nadu, where film and politics have long intersected. Her views on rising totalitarian governments in India and across the world motivate her to make films addressing caste, class, and gender. Inspired by Tamil Nadu's rationalist movement, she hopes to reflect these ideas through filmmaking.
